Biography

Kari began working for ISRDI in 2013 after completing her Master of Development Practice degree from the University of Minnesota's Humphrey School of Public Affairs. Kari has worked on a range of IPUMS datasets in her time at ISRDI, including focused work with IPUMS NHIS and IPUMS MEPS and a number of initiatives that cut across the IPUMS data collections, including harmonizing changes in the census occupation coding schemes and the development of the family interrelationship variables. As the manager of the IPUMS User Support & Outreach, Kari is focused on connecting researchers with the relevant data, cultivating training resources and opportunities for data users, and identifying ways to increase the usability of publicly available data for a variety of  audiences and research-related topics.
