Six countries in the world that possess completely digitized censuses for the late nineteenth century: Canada, England, Iceland, Norway, Scotland, and the United States. These datasets were created for genealogical, medical research, or historical purposes and are now being adapted for social science research. At the end of the nineteenth century these six nations were closely connected by economic ties and migration flows. This project coordinates ongoing efforts in each country to develop a merged North Atlantic microdata resource with over ninety million observations.
