Public Use Microdata Sample of the 1930 Census
National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, Demographic and Behavioral Sciences (R01 HD041575). Principal Investigators: Steven Ruggles and Ronald Goeken.
This project will create a nationally representative 1-in-100 public
use microdata sample of the 1930 United States census of population,
beginning with data entry of information on approximately
1,232,026individuals from the original enumerators’
manuscripts. The 1930 sample closes the gap between the
Minnesota samples (1850 through 1920) and the Census Bureau samples
(1940-2000).
