Announcements of MPC Staff and Researchers arrivals and departures…
The IPUMS-International project has continued its growth, hiring two new postdocs (Phuong Nguyen and Krishna Mohan), a new Coordinator (Patt Kelly Hall), and research assistants Bernardo Creamer, Misty Heggeness, Alma Romero-Barrutieta and Miguel Ricaurte. IPUMS-USA welcomed Sadie Pendaz as a new research assistant. Four new research assistants started on the historical census projects: Lara Cleveland, Inga Jakobsdottir, Johanna Leinonen, and Ruyan Liao. The NHGIS project hired two new research assistants: Xuejin Ruan and Shipeng Sun; David Van Riper moved into the Research Fellow position on the same project. The Flexible Work and Well-Being Center has brought new researchers to the MPC; project coordinator Rachel Magennis and research assistants Samantha Ammons and Kelly Chermack began in the Fall. The Integrated Health Interview Project hired two new research assistants, Amanda Tzy-Chyi Yu and Andrew Ward, and promoted Pamela Jo Johnson to Research Associate.
Congratulations to Carolyn Liebler, former MPC Postdoc, who became an Assistant Professor in the University of Minnesota’s Sociology Department, and to MPC members Liz Davis, David Levinson, and Rob Warren, who received promotion and tenure in their home departments. We also send our well-wishes to MPC employees moving on to exciting new positions. Current Postdoc Berna Torr is moving on to a research position at RAND. Former research assistant Brad Jarvis will begin a new position at Saginaw Valley State University in the History Department, and research assistant Nuray Akin has accepted an Assistant Professor position at the University of Miami School of Business.
