User Support Core
The User Support Core provides user assistance and education regarding MPC data resources, including IPUMS-USA, IPUMS-International, IPUMS-CPS, NAPP, and IHIS.
What we do
Each year, the User Support staff respond to approximately 2,000 questions ranging from straightforward inquiries about data availability to in-depth questions about the design and analysis of our data. We welcome any type of query about MPC data projects. All registered users of MPC data resources are eligible for User Support Core services. This includes nearly 25,000 scholars and analysts worldwide. Researchers at the University of Minnesota are also eligible for one-on-one consultations via scheduled meetings with the User Support staff or during weekly office hours held by MPC Research Assistants.
We also regularly hold half-day workshops at major social science and public health conferences and 1-day and 3-day workshops in Minneapolis.
